Online Associate Degree in Criminal Justice

Students who complete the StraighterLine-Brookhaven College program have the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts with a Field of Study in Criminal Justice. This program is designed to meet the needs of students who require a degree for career advancement or plan to transfer to a 4-year college or university.

To earn your associate degree in criminal justice, you will need to earn a total of 60 credits over four semesters. You will complete 30 of your credits, up to 12 courses, through StraighterLine, and Brookhaven College will deliver the balance of courses online. Your degree, an Associate of Arts with a Field of Study in Criminal Justice, will be awarded by Brookhaven College, which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

In order to be eligible to receive this AA degree, a student must:
  • Complete a minimum of 60 credit hours including the courses listed below;
  • Earn a grade of 70% on all StraighterLine courses; and
  • Receive a GPA of at least 2.0 (C) on all Brookhaven courses

To fulfill the associate degree requirements in two years, students must complete 15 to 16 hours each semester. If students take fewer credit hours, they will need to complete additional terms. Each semester consists of two 8-week sessions.
